Registration and Refund Policy

The purpose of the On-Site Seminar or Home Study Course in CD-ROM format is to prepare you to pass the North Carolina State Home Inspector Licensure Exam. (It is not to train you as a Home Inspector)

Please keep in mind, there are no shortcuts to passing the exam. While a course at a Community College is beneficial, we provide you with refined tools you need to pass the exam. The NCHILB Home Inspectors’ exam is a high-profile psychometric exam that assesses the knowledge and skills necessary for adequate performance of a home inspection in the interests of public protection.

Fundamentally, it measures your knowledge base and your ability to think - like a home inspector. Knowing that memorizing exam questions is counter productive, we limit our review of questions to 50. Why? Because the 200 NCHILB and/or NHIE exam questions traditionally are randomly drawn from a bank of 1800 questions. Each question has 4 possible answers, and different sets of questions and answers may be selected each time the exam is given. Folks, not even with the memory of an Einstein could you possibly master the exam studying or memorizing questions! In the interest of fairness, if you believe studying and/or memorizing questions is the way to go, then we suggest that you do an Internet or EBay search for Home Inspection Exam Sample Questions. In our search, we located 1800 Q & A’s for $20.00 and 500 for $5.88.

FOCUS - We will help you to focus on specific subject matter that you need to study in order to pass the exam and to understand the psychometric aspects of the questions! We will help you to understand how the questions are structured.

We strongly suggest you register early because you need to allow sufficient time for study.

If you ask any North Carolina General Contractor who sat for the Home Inspectors’ exam how difficult it is, he will tell you that the Home Inspector licensing exam is considerably more difficult, 3 to 4 times more difficult, than the General Contractor's exam! In fact, the exam has little if anything to do with being a General Contractor. When licensing first came about, General Contractors, PE's, and Architects were encouraged to sit for the exam to populate the initial License base.

We provide each participant with a comprehensive reference/study/student manual in a CD-ROM format containing over 350 pages of valuable information, + Full Color Schematic/Diagram Study Handouts in a CD-ROM Format to help you pass the exam.

Using the NCHILB Standards of Practice, the NCHILB Code of Ethics, and other reference materials, we will help you understand the test contents and provide you with the information you need to pass, but you have to study! This is an in-depth, highly focused course. It details the systems and components of a home and provides and understanding of how they may relate to taking the exam.

During the process, you will take a 50+ question exam that closely mirrors the NCHILB/NHIE exam. We will review sample exam questions and the manner in which the questions are structured. We will clarify answers. While we have over 2500 sample test questions and answers at our disposal, we do not utilize them - in our experience memorizing questions and answers will not help you pass the exam. Mastering the body of knowledge, understanding systems and components and how the questions are asked is how you will pass the exam and be a successful inspector - this is what we offer you!
